The Dreaded Interview

Filed under: Essays, Writing — admin @ 5:13 pm

You as the interviewee are the subject so to speak in the job interview but that doesn’t mean you can’t get the upper hand in a situation. Establish a rapport with your interviewer, for though you might not know them, they’ve seen enough and might need a little perking up to revive their spirits and attract you to them as a positive thinker and a happy one at that. Be comfortable and admit it if you have nothing to say or do not know the answer to a more technical question. Confidence is a must but over-doing it may ruin your chances. Try to break the ice by adjusting your answers accordingly, be prompt in answering questions and be prepared (as you get from job to job you’d get the picture or ask around for possible questions and answers). Be creative and think out of the box if required, it may be just what they’re looking for.

Persistence - Stick to It

Filed under: Essays — admin @ 5:06 pm

Persistence when applying for a job within a specific company is good but be patient and allow time for proper evaluation. Most companies that receive applicants tend to do so through email or through drop-in resume’s so they don’t need people who have already applied for to do so again. They tend to do this for they are flooded with repetitive applications that wastes time and effort with the same outcome. Use your resume as a good tool for a proper first impression and use tactics that shows interest (guerilla tactics but keep it under control). Tenacity is nice but patience is key.

Recession - More Lost Jobs

Filed under: Essays, Writing — admin @ 5:02 pm

This may be a sad story but a very likely one for during phases of depression that the US has suffered from (more so with this current crisis for the effects have dragged within the global economy) recent
history, people have been laid off jobs like flies stricken by the fogger. More jobs have already been lost and many still planned or expected. The stock market may be bouncing up and down as the Federal Bank tries to stabilize the economy but the global scene is a mess and everybody might have to tighten their belts a bit to allow all of us to survive this economic crisis.
